Our village is situated amid the beautiful green fields of North Yorkshire, nestled between the Moors and the Dales, along the river Swale. There is a lot of history here and the first settlement dates back to the Vikings.
The people here are friendly and there is a definite sense of community spirit, we have a good primary school, a pub, a lovely church, a well-used village hall and sports association. It is an excellent place to pursue all kinds of outdoor activities. Many villagers are involved in local businesses or some of the many clubs and classes that take place here.
We are a team of young local dads that want the best for our children as much as we enjoy a good pint. We are seeking to raise funds to develop a purpose built recreation area for young people which would be a valuable asset for the village and indeed for future generations. That is why we created the Helperby Beer Festival! It is for charity and a family friendly day out. We hope that this will bring together the local and surrounding communities for a good cause and that it will become a successful event.
Our first beer festival held on 27th September 2015 raised an incredible £8467 towards a new Children’s play area for the village.
Helperby Beer Festival is back for 2024 and will be held at Helperby Village Hall on 21st September.
We would like to welcome everyone, and if you can help or sponsor us it would be greatly appreciated.
